Exhibition of Memorabilia
Selection of three best entries
A.Introduction
The Steering Committee of Golden Reunion 2020 of BITS Pilani 1970 entry batch has decided to hold an Exhibition of Memorabilia during its proposed Reunion at Mandawa from 6-9 February 2020. The main idea behind the proposed Exhibition is to collect and exhibit all items – both academic and non-academic in nature – that we as students used during our stay in BITS Pilani. The exhibition would refresh and trigger our lost memories as also serve to help us relive those wonderful times once again in the company of our friends.
We might have forgotten many of those items with efflux of time or have either thrown them or lost them as being of little value during our journey of life since our BITS days. But when we see them we are mentally transported back to our times in BITSInstitute. Hence the items that survive with our friends are priceless which no credit card can buy.
These items would have little value monetarily but are priceless for their association with our lives during our stay in Pilani campus. If these are still in possession of our friends they could be exhibited in the Exhibition.
B.Who can participate in the Exhibition?
The exhibition is open to all those who attend the Reunion at Mandawa.
C.What items can be exhibited?
There is no restriction on the kind or number of items you can exhibit. However the items must have some connection with our student life in BITS Pilani during 1970-75 and the exhibitor should have used the item either in academic or non-academic life at BITS.
However you should give prior intimation of your willingness to participate in the Exhibition at least 30 days prior to the Reunion.
D.What are prizes for 3 Best Entries and who would evaluate and assess the entries?
A panel of three judges comprising three spouses of reunion attendees will evaluate the exhibits. The three best entries will carry prizes either in cash or kind amounting to
-
Rs. 5,000 (1st prize)
-
Rs. 3,000 (2nd Prize) and
-
Rs. 2,000 (3rd Prize).
All prospective attendees are requested to start hunting for any items that may have lain hidden for all these years in your cupboard or attic. Who knows what you thought was a worthless junk might after all fetch you a prize.
