Post IIMA-76, I was in Mumbai till 1985. Started career in Mafatlal Group and in Projects Management in one of their chemical division. I was a job hopper. My third assignment was at Bhor industries part of Thackersey’s group and in Marketing. 

 

My period in Mumbai was very eventful and great experience professionally also. In 1985 shifted to Chennai to join Chemplast, again in Marketing. I travelled all over the country and had good exposure to various cultures and business practices. 

 

In 1990, I followed my inner urge of to be on my own and ventured into a chemical manufacturing company. Struggled for almost 5 years to float, but sank finally below red line. A great learning in life and business nitty gritty. 

 

As the saying goes ‘hurt, but not out’ I dabbled with consultancy with few companies in Chennai and Bengaluru. In 1998 I shifted to Bengaluru as a full time advisor to a company in food processing sector. In 2005 I moved into education sector on the advice of a friend and I was responsible in Karnataka introducing Management Education in Tier 2 cities for the group ICFAI. In 2010 I became in charge of an eye hospital, a social enterprise as CEO in Bengaluru. From 2012 I am teaching in few management institutes in Bengaluru. For me relaxation is reading, sharing my views with young minds and facilitating discussion.

 

Padmini became my life partner in 1977 and she has been a true partner through my lows and highs in life. My elder son Karthik is married and settled in Austin, Texas. I am a grand dad too. My second son, Koushick works for IBM and we stay together in Bengaluru. Padmini and me believe in joy in life through inner peace and practice regularly to experience inner peace.
