Completed my Doctoral [Fellow] Program at IIMA in end of 1977. I joined BOC India as Financial Planning Officer and continued with the Industrial /commercial sector for the next 18 years.

 

I was the Managing Director of Maharashtra Weldaids Ltd, a Joint Sector Company of Government of Maharashtra. In   October 1994,  I decided to bite the bullet, join IIM Calcutta as  a Full Professor of Strategic Management and return to my first love : teaching and writing. I am  continuing to do so even at December 2018

 

In 1980 I got an opportunity to teach in Beirut Lebanon and also wrote my first book. I had known that I would return to academia at an appropriate right time.

 

In October 1994,  I joined IIM Calcutta as a faculty in strategic management area and pioneered the digital delivery of long duration executive education in India.  in 2003, I  established the first long duration executive education program of IIM Calcutta delivered over digital platform

 

I have been a Visiting Professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology [HKUST] and Indian School of Business [ISB], Hyderabad. I have since written and published six books

 

In 2008 I took a sabbatical to set up The Strategy Academy, a 100% LIVE and 2 Way Interactive Professional Service Organization delivering education and related services, to executives /anyone in the world. In 2009 I was Interviewed by Business Today on "Academicians as Entrepreneurs"

 

My wife Sanjukta holds a PhD in English and is working as a  Full  Professor in a College in Calcutta. Our daughter Ranjana is also a Professor at University of Surrey. She did her PhD from London School of Economics [LSE] in 2011.   In 2014 she married Adam and we have a Grandson ARJO
