After graduation, for about seven years, worked in State Industrial Development Entities, with little value addition to what I had gathered at the institute.

The first meaningful job was in 1983 with Garware Wall Ropes Ltd, Mumbai, a large synthetic ropes manufacturing company. My eight years association with the company had given me an integrated perspective of a manufacturing company and helped me grow professionally to become the head of its end to end supply chain function. Got a good exposure to international trade as well.

Spent two years (1991-93) as a faculty member with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmadabad where I had a chance to interact with a large number of entrepreneurs and realised some qualitative differences in thinking between a manager and an entrepreneur

Joined India’s Largest Transportation, Freight, Travel and Courier Services Company, AFL Ltd, in 1993 and worked for 10 years. Became the CEO of their Logistics and Supply Chain Services Division. Took early retirement in 2003 and since then involved in Supply Chain Consultancy and Teaching.

Remained single, presently taking care of my old mother. Residing in a senior citizen facility in Hyderabad. Extending financial support to the education of several under privileged children, and wish to give back more to the community.
