Joined a Social Sector organization, BAIF Development Research Foundation, Pune,  working for technology transfer in the field of natural resources like land, water livestock, vegetation owned by farmers and capacity building farmers to enhance productivity and income farmers, worked till retirement in December, 2016 and continued as Adviser for another one year till December, 2017.

 

- Held various positions in the organization, retired from the post of Executive Vice President and Member of Board of Trustee of this eminent Trust.

Also appointed as chairman and Member of the board of state specific societies formed by BAIF.

 

-  Part of senior Core Team of this professionally managed Trust, which is catering to to more than 5.0 million families in the country and conducting research in nationally important issues of sustainable development and productivity enhancement.

 

Some of the achievements which I enjoined are;

 

i) Designed and implemented decentralized working of field operations involving establishment and building state institutions.

 

ii) Competed with MNCs in the field of vaccine manufacturer, and ended the exploitation by bring down rate of FMD vaccine from Rs.14/- per shot in 1978 to Rs.3/- per shot in 1992. It helped in the expansion of FMD vaccination in the country.

 

iii) Identified scalable grant based rural development programmes to commercial model. It opened up opportunities for rural youth.

 

iv) Working with state and central government during the last 40 years and various state and central government committees under various ministries and contribute towards policy making.

 

Contribution to National and State Policies:

 

i) worked on various committees and Sub Committees of Govt of india in the Departments of Agricuture, Animal Husbandry, Science and Technonogy, Rural Development, Tribal Affairs and Planning commission etc.

 

ii) Invited to meeting of Standing Committee of Rajya Sabha & Lok Sabha on Afforestation and Food Security & sustainable development.

 

Married to Veena. We have 2 daughters and 1 son.

 

Elder Daughter – Shalini – Nephrologist. Married to Nitin Verma, a Cardiologist settled in USA. They have two sons 6 and 3 year old

 

Younger Daughter – Rupalini - Gynaecologist. Married to Sachin Dhingra, Paediatrician, settled in USA. They have one daughter (8 year old) and one son (3 year old)

 

Son - Himanshu – Did his MBBS from MAMC, Delhi. studying in final year of residency in Medicine in USA., shall be completing in June, 2019.
