Our family is a bit like the United Nations. I am the son of a Maharashtrian and a Tamilian, married to a Keralite (Karti).

My elder son, Arjun is married to an Assamese Muslim (Zubina). My younger son, Siddharth is married to a Lebanese Catholic (Carole). They have a beautiful three-year old daughter (Yara) - our pride and joy.

Arjun, an MBA from London Business School is based in Zurich with Credit Suisse as a Private Banker while Siddharth, an MS in Computer Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Rochester School of Management is a Product Manager with Keysight Technologies, a subsidiary of Agilent, based in Denver, Colorado.

My career has been quite varied and includes stints in Advertising (JWT), Market Research (IMRB, BMRB, LMRB, Nielsen), Brand Management (GSK), Private Banking & Asset Management (Citibank), Consumer Banking, Credit cards (Stanchart) and Knowledge Management / KPOs ( Egon Zehnder and Heidrick & Struggles).

I have worked in India, the U. K, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Sri Lanka. I have been involved with two start–ups having set up Lanka Market Research Bureau (LMRB) in Sri Lanka (1981-84) and Egon Zehnder’s KPO in India (2006-7).

I am currently the Managing Director of a company called H&S Software & Knowledge Management Centre Pvt Ltd based in Gurgaon. We provide research, knowledge management and data management services to Heidrick & Struggles, one of the largest global executive search, leadership consulting and culture shaping firms worldwide.

During this rather peripatetic career we have lived through some scary times including the first anti-Tamil riots in Sri Lanka in 1983 and the Gulf War in 1990 /91 while we were in Riyadh

In 2006, I decided to do something adventurous. I rode a Royal Bullet 500 cc bike up to Khardung-la in Ladakh. At 18500 feet this is the highest motorable point in the world. The links below will take you to a photographic travelogue of the entire journey which turned out to be hair-raising but utterly enjoyable.

Apart from this I am on the tennis courts or golf course six days a week and still manage to win a few tournaments now and again.
