Trapped by two offer system, landed up at BHEL, Ramachandrapuram (Hyderabad). Moved out after two years of great learning and spent 28 years in private sector: Tatas – 8 years, Shriram Fibres – 1 year and 19 years with Max-Ranbaxy Group. For 12 years as President, CEO or MD, was responsible for full Business Units or Companies. Had a lot of fun along the way; created new businesses and companies; even bought and sold a few. 

 

Turned entrepreneur in 2007 and now run a marketing and consulting company, Raj Nakra Associates. Work with international companies and focus on nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals and cosmeceuticals. Support M&A, PE Funds and Cross-border alliances. Details at www. rajnakraassociates. com 

 

With a team of 8 highly qualified professionals, I am enjoying what I do. The idea is to stay a knowledge based company and work with young team that makes me feel young too! 

 

In 1981 married Manju, a medical doctor. She practiced medicine for 25 years. After 12 years in health insurance, she retired from Max BUPA earlier this year. 

 

Our two daughters graduated from IITD and got MBA from Columbia Bus School and Harvard Business School. Their husbands have matching degrees and they met at respective Business Schools. Never had to look for a match J. They married 6 months apart and had babies 6 month apart. The elder one is in London and the younger one in San Francisco.
