After passing out from IIM, Ahmedabad, I worked with Rallis India Ltd. For four years in middle management position. For another five years I worked with a Chennai based Jhaver’s Group in sr. position and thereafter I started my own venture. I was managing a company manufacturing pesticides from 1986 till 2004. 

 

In the first five years, the company grew very fast and I saw a phenomenal rise but the things took and ugly turn and I was forced to close down the company because of losses it incurred due to unfavourable conditions faced by Pesticides Industry. The only option available at that time was to take up a job again. 

 

It was indeed a painful decision but it had to be taken and work for others which was least preferred by me. Since then I have taken assignments with a few leading Indian companies which proved to be quite rewarding. 

 

After completing 60 years of age which unfortunately in India means retirement, I took up another job in the company called Safex Chemicals India Ltd. as Marketing Advisor and I have been working with this company since 2012. 

 

There have been lots of ups & downs in my career but by grace of God, after giving up my own business I have seen a continuous rise in my career. The rise & fall of things in my early career has given me a deeper understanding of life. 

 

It is said that we can create our own destiny with our thoughts, words & actions but it is my firm belief that the destiny is pre-written and a man cannot change it. There are many things which are beyond our control. As Lord Buddha said:-

 

“Better it is to live one day seeing rise & fall of things than to live a hundred years without seeing rise & fall of things” and I truly believe in this. 

 

Current Status / Location: Chief Marketing Advisor in Safex Chemicals India Ltd., New Delhi, a closely held public limited company with current sales turn over of over 400 crores.

Family: Have a daughter named Neha Gupta who is married to Gaurav Jain. Both are settled in Dubai and working with leading banks in sr. positions.
