During 2012–2016 Member, Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (a down stream P&NG Regulator with Quasi-Judicial and Quasi-Legislative powers to fix Tariff, access, registration, safety, complaint and dispute resolution etc.); Chaired Board Meetings from September 2015 till June 2016.

 

Earlier during 2004-2011 was Chairman & Managing Director (2007-2011) and Director Finance (2004-2007) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. He was Chairman of Eastern Investments Ltd. and Chairman of The Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited as well as Non-Executive Chairman of Bisra Stone Lime Company Limited. He has been a Non-Executive Independent Director of Avadh Sugar & Energy Limited since March 14, 2017 and an Independent Director of Rane (Madras) Limited since October 24, 2016.

 

Pradip was also a Director of The Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited. During 1977-2004 Pradip was with Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd, Kolkata (A multi-product, multi-location conglomerate – packaging, lubricants, multimodal transportation etc.) as Managing Director (2001- 2004), Director Finance (1998-2002) and GM & above positions (1990 onwards). Between 1997-2004, Pradip also served as nominee Director on Boards of Companies based in India, Dubai & London in packaging, lubricants, shipping containers, NBFC etc businesses.

 

Before IIMA, 1972-74 he was marketing for Larsen & Toubro Limited having launched hydraulic excavators (Poclain) in India. Marketing agency Caterpillar.

 

Pradip was also on the Board of Standing Council of Public Enterprises as well as World Steel Association. He was awarded Gold medal by Prime Minister for development work in the year 2008. Post IIMA, Pradip completed Management Programme at Oxford, UK and Programme on Utility Regulators at World Bank, Florida University. USA.

 

Wife: Anita, schooling/college in Mumbai. BA (Hons) Psychology. B.Ed from Agra. Junior School Teacher in Kolkata, Kochi, Agra, Vizag etc

 

Son: Ashwin, schooling Kolkata. Graduate from NLS Bengaluru. LLM from UPEN(USA). Worked for Luthra & Luthra (Delhi), Skaden (NewYork & London), Amarchand Mangaldas (Delhi) now Khaitan & Co.(Delhi)) as Equity Partner.

 

Daughter: Prerna, schooling Kolkata, Pune and Diploma in Digital Videography Shristy School Of Art, Design and Technology, Bengaluru. Masters in Fine Arts (Trondheim, Norway). Just started her Firm in Norway in the Art related business.

 

Daughter in Law : Sumona, schooling Delhi, Graduation NLS Bengaluru. Worked for Link Laters (Singapore, New York and London) after a break now with GE international treasury based at Delhi.
