• 1976 Joined the Tata Administrative Service. During this period spent time with Telco, Tata Tea and Voltas.

• 1980 Joined Harvard Business School.

• 1984 Finished my DBA and joined the Sloan School at MIT.

• 1986 Took leave of absence and joined Best & Crompton as Finance Director.

• 1989 Joined the World Bank in Washington. I was made Director of Investments in 2000.

• 2002-present: Left the World Bank to cofound an asset management company, the Rock Creek Group. 

 

I got married to Nalini in 1977. We have two sons, Siddarth and Anirudh. Siddarth is married to Vidhya and has 2 children, who are 5 years and 3 years.

 

I started a vocational training center in Chennai for special needs young adults. This center now has 32 ‘students’ who are being trained in 5-6 vocations. It has been up and running for a couple of years. I intend spending my retirement years with the grandchildren, developing the vocational center and traveling. .
