Having been born and lived 18 years of my life in the dusty and little known town of UP called Sultanpur I did not stand much chance to go far.The only name to fame till that time for Sultanpur was Majrooh Sultanpuri who has written 449 lyrics for Indian Films and some of them made the films to make silver jubilee runs

 

Being top of the class did help in getting 1st in IITK and then in IIMA possibily I being the 1st boy from the district to get in these elite institutes.5 years at IIT flew fast then time came to decide whether to join a job or IIMA or to go to University of Florida to do MS in Fluid Mechanics (which I did not like at all). Now I think I did the right thing in joining IIMA.

 

Came to Dorm 4 which was my home for 2 years.Panga sir was even then our guide and mentor being the senior most He would always goad us to finish the home work. Mayank (who unfortunately is no more) was the youngest of the lot and would always be ready for dorm cricket. Suresh was the serious type. Ajay was flamboyant as always. SP and Sampath were serious and studious.

 

Though I stayed in Dorm 4 I did spend considerable time with Abhaya, Adish and BM in playing Bridge in Dorm 17 and going for movies etc with them

 

I had also take the responsibility as Club Secretary in 2nd year managing the club Post IIM I have spent time in New Delhi, Kansabahal (Orissa), Kumadhubi (Bihar), Hyderabad and then back to Delhi before moving to Trinidad to join the steel co of LN Mittal. 

 

After leaving Mittal I do my own free lance trading activity. Now in Trinidad for 26 years

Got married to Malti in 1978 when she was finishing her MA in Gwalior. We have now spent together 38 years. 

 

My 2 children grew up in Trinidad and then went to college in USA and now settled in Texas.Son in Austin and Daughter in Dallas.Both are software engineers are married and settled We are blessed with a 5 years old grand son

 

Life was going smooth until I suffered heart attack on 25th Dec 2015 in Trinidad. With timely help from friends in moving to the hospital which was important and help with the doctor who put the stent I was back to normal soon. Ofcourse all thru this Malti has been the strength and support of my life. We now spend our time in Trinidad, USA and India.

 

Some of Gems like CP and Shekhar have visited Trinidad and it was with Shekhar that we visited the world famous Angel Falls in Venezuela. Sweet Memories.
