He had his primary education in a small village in Belgaum district and secondary school education in Belgaum city. Later moved to Dharwad and graduated in Agriculture (1971) from UAS campus and continued as Jr. Research fellow for 2 years at the same campus. Worked for a year as Asst. Agricultural officer with Govt of Karnataka before joining IIMA. 

 

Married to Shashikala in 1978. Eldest daughter Ashvini is M. Tech from VTU and worked for few years with Robert Bosch and now a home maker. She is married to Sanjeev and stays at Bengaluru with Daughters Saanvi (6 yrs) and Aradhya (3 yrs). Second daughter Archana has done MS from UTD,Texas and married to Vishwanath and now stays/works in Portland. Son Amit after doing his MS from UIC is working at Pune and is yet to get married. 

 

First job was with Mysore paper mill at Bangalore and later worked for ICI, Cooperatives, Venky’s, Anichem, Bharti Wal-mart and Roha Dyechem. Now remotely manage a small manufacturing facility located at Gadag producing corn cob derivatives for various end uses. 

 

Reside at Pune with wife and son.
